How It Works
When you sign up for a share in Bluebird Gardens' CSA, you are getting the best possible piece of our farm. You will get a box of produce delivered to you each week from June to mid-October! With the weekly arrival of our vegetables, you and your family will be nudged into healthy eating habits, and you won't believe the great taste of our produce!
As a CSA member, you are invited to connect with the farm at farm Harvest Events where you come and pick your favorite vegetables. Produce from these Harvest Events is perfect for "laying by" in the freezer, canning jars, and pantry so you can enjoy the bounty of Bluebird Gardens all winter!
As a CSA member you'll also get weekly email updates from our farm with information on upcoming Harvest Events and the vegetables you can expect in your boxes. These email updates will have links to videos as well that SHOW YOU what's happening on your farm!
Each CSA box will bring to you the best fresh-picked vegetables that are in season.
Each box will contain what is in season that week. For example, an early June box will most likely contain romaine and mixed lettuce, onions, cabbage, spinach, radishes, and cucumbers. The heart of the summer will include many items such as peas, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, beets and carrots. The September and October boxes will feature items such as sweet corn, squash, carrots, beets, potatoes, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, spinach tomatoes and cucumbers.

CSA members get their boxes of vegetables at a pick-up site that they choose.
We deliver our CSA boxes to a variety of drop-off locations every week from early June to mid-October. When you sign up for our CSA, you can specify where you would like to pick up your boxes. You can change this pick-up location any time.

There are several share sizes and payment options to choose from.
Before the season starts in June 2013, you can purchase a $595 FAMILY SHARE, which generally feeds a family of four and you receive ten harvest event tickets, or a $395 SHARE to our farm, which feeds a family of two and you receive five harvest event tickets. You can also choose the every other week share that feeds a family of one for $225 and includes two harvest event tickets . We have also added the every other week family share that comes with four harvest event tickets. For the extra big family, there is the double share for $1190 with twenty harvest event tickets. There is a secure sign-up on this website.
There are several payment options:
- You can choose to pay by credit card or with a check. If you wish to pay by check, choose "invoice only" when you sign up.
- You can choose to pay in full before the season starts, or you can choose a montly payment plan. If you want to spread out your payments, simply put an initial 20% down payment on your credit card. Our computer system will then automatically charge your credit card an additional 20% each month for the next four months. When you choose to pay by credit card, watch for the choice of "pay in full" or pay in five payments.
